About

Hi, my name is Angie Goodloe. I started the blog Authentic Mama so I can inspire moms to maintain (or find) their authenticity, have direction, purpose, and inspire their wild creativity- all this alongside their kids! Not an easy task I know. I am a mom of 2 kids ages 2 and under (a 2 1/2 year old daughter and 11 month old son as of this writing). My goal with this blog is to give moms the tools and inspiration to be fulfilled. These challenging economic times provide us with a gift- a reminder to stop going along with the status quo, find our real purpose instead of attempting to make ourselves happy with material items. I will provide tools to hone your intention in the right direction so you can live your best life possible- and be a great role model for your kids!
My passion is holistic health. I am a Licensed Massage Therapist, herbalist and nutrition consultant. I graduated from The American College Of Health Sciences (receiving my Master Herbalist Diploma and Holistic Nutrition certification in 2005) I received my massage license from East West college of the Healing arts of in 2003. I teach holistic courses online at www.universalclass.com. You can find details about my herbal adventures at www.herbalistpath.blogspot.com as well as local herb class updates, links to courses and more.
Since you asked………..
10 things you may not have known about me:

1. I think the phone was invented for our convenience, just because it rings it does not mean I’m going to jump up and answer it (at least if it’s not convenient for me to do so at the time)I also just got a Blackberry Storm touchscreen (cause it was free). I will never know all the options so don’t ask- and you just may get a butt call.

2. I don’t know my right from left half the time. Sometimes I have to pretend like I am writing (with a pencil) to remind myself what side is what.

3. I was a major rocker back in the day. You would have easily found me at a Def Leppard -or insert any metal hair band- concert rockin’ out. I had the permed feathered hair (that took at least 20 minutes to perfect) and tight jeans (that I had to lay back on the bed to zip, and when you pulled them off they were inside out because they were so pegged at the leg)- and I will tell you what; I was ~convinced~ I looked hot.

4. I love Harry Potter books. When I say love I mean I stand in line at borders- no joke.

5. I’m a big star trek (the 60’s version- not any of the new ones) fan. No, I’m not excited about the new movie- no one can top the 60’s cast.

6. I grew up in Troutdale Oregon near the Columbia River Gorge scenic area- I love it! I also love the Oregon Coast- specifically Cannon Beach (we had a cabin there) -especially when the tide is out and you are the only one on the beach. Both places are very spiritual to me.

7. I have always been sort-of a ‘Tomboy’ and have had the same best friend since I was 5 (David Graham above) we actually became ‘blood brother and sister’ by cutting our hands and smearing them together when we were 11 (sorry Dave LOL)

8. I love to watch sunsets- I miss the view from my childhood home (the above picture was taken off our deck).

9. I didn’t know real unconditional love until my kids were born.
10. Of course I love the outdoors and plants- all you need to do is take a quick look at my blog The Herbalist’s Path and check out the posts there- I can often be found inspecting weeds to see if they are edible or medicinal- sometimes I embarrass friends and relatives by eating them on the spot.
